Our client, a large Australian rail client has a requirement for motivated and enthusiastic Project Manager to work in Sydney, Australia.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY:
Manage projects within the Design Delivery business unit, to provide design delivery services for a series of major projects and or programs to ensure agreed design commitments and outcomes are achieved in accordance with the company's requirements.
Manage the provision of high level engineering advice and technical solutions consistent with current company standards to a variety of internal and external interfaces in order to maximise the safety and reliability of relevant company asset classes throughout the asset lifecycle.

ACTIVITIES MANAGED:
Manage Design Delivery Managers and teams in the delivery of safe, effective and efficient multidisciplinary engineering design projects.
Liaise with all stakeholders to obtain agreement of delivery commitment for designs
Plan, coordinate and oversee the activities of the design teams to ensure a total integrated engineering solution.
Contribute to the analysis and reporting of Design Delivery business unit performance.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Tertiary qualifications in engineering of a relevant discipline
Approximately ten years experience in the management of multi-discipline projects, preferably in a rail design environment, to ensure a clear understanding of railway design practices and processes
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of Managers and Engineers in the delivery of total engineering design solutions to client requirements
Proven ability to contract management and high level capability in project management tools
Demonstrated negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to liaise at all levels of the organisation
Knowledge and understanding of EEO policies and requirements of OH&S Act
